A Unified Hook Switch; USB Hook Switch or Hook Switch over USB is a device, or cable, which electronically connects a headset and phone through a desk phone integrated USB port. A UHS passes predefined signalling based on software commands or HID commands via the desk phone. Either corded, bluetooth or DECT headset can be used. Users can handle calls with the headset function buttons, freeing them from remaining next to the phone. Switching from handset to headset is typically accomplished by pushing a specific button.
