This is a system/ programme/ approach to aid stammerers to improve their natural fluency. There are differences in the approach that depend on age/maturity of the individual. With younger children this system focuses on changing the interaction between the child and significant others. Therefore this approach with younger children looks to modify the speaking environment of the individual by seeking changes from their significant carers. This may involve belief changes and personal development work of the individual carers. It may include building confidence within the young child; addressing issues for sensitive children. Plus it looks at establishing and enhancing family relationships and setting boundaries, when necessary. Currently, this system is used with young children who stammer and/or their significant carers. This system is currently available via internet, telephone, face to face. It is intended that this approach for younger children will also be made available via media (audio and audio-visual). For teenage and adult stammerers the approach includes personal development, belief change, physical tension reduction and stress reduction. It creates changes that will build confidence in speaking and in themselves. This approach aids reduction in trauma - when required. This system looks at the unique difficulties that each stammerer experiences and seeks to resolve them. It also looks at the similarities that all stammerers have in common and seeks to resolve these common difficulties. It changes their thinking and approach to these problems and to talking situations. When required, specific work is done on breathing, and posture. This programme changes the teenage and adult stammerer so that they can be consistently more naturally fluent in speaking. The StammerLess system aids the stammerer to become more naturally fluent. The exact combination of approaches varies according to the needs of the individual stammerer. This system is available via internet, telephone, face to face and will be made available via audio and audio-visual media to teenage and adult stammerers. It is currently available as a group or individual programme. This system is both educational and therapeutic. In the future, this method / system/ programme/ approach may be taught to other people who will deliver this system/ approach. Combinations of aspects of these approaches are used with children aged between approximately 5- 12 years. Therefore, the approaches used with children in the age range of approximately 5 to 12 years are a mixture of the systems used with teenagers and with the younger children. This system is currently available via internet, telephone, face to face. It is intended that this approach for all children, teenagers and adults will also be made available via media (audio and audio-visual). It is currently available as a group or individual programme. This system is both educational and therapeutic.
