'Negotiating with Ambition' is the name of commercial skills training in the form of workshops that enable participants to acquire the knowledge, skills and understanding to achieve better outcomes in their dealings with customers, clients and even colleagues. The training covers the behavioural foundation of being assertive, and provides the tools, tips and techniques to be assertive in a commercial context. Crucially, the training introduces the concept of 'Best Believable' (BB) outcomes, and focuses on identifying and achieving these. Key features of the training include, for example, extensive observed practice and feedback to hone skills, self-assessment questionnaires and diagnostic tools, a competency matrix to support personal development, and authorised use of the Thomas-Kilmann Conflict indicator (TKi) for strategic planning. All participants receive follow-up 1:1 coaching to support and challenge the everyday use of newfound skills back in the workplace. All Sustrain UK Limited training is delivered by a CIPD certificated trainer, and an ICF accredited coach.
